Website & SEO leads: businesses with a provably weak website
A local business with a broken, slow, or unindexable website is one of the easiest leads to prove — you don't need to guess at pain, you can show them the audit. This pipeline runs a real crawl and, when configured, a PageSpeed/Lighthouse audit, and only keeps a lead when it finds a specific, statable problem.
How the signal is found
Candidates come from a location search (Foursquare Places) or a single domain you name directly. Each candidate's homepage is fetched with Conterity's own crawler — checking for HTTPS, a <title> tag, and a meta description, all free and always available. When a PageSpeed Insights API key is configured, the same URL also gets a full Lighthouse run for performance, SEO, best-practices, and accessibility scores.
| Source | Maturity | What it checks |
|---|---|---|
| Own crawler | Real, keyless, always on | HTTPS, <title>, meta description |
| PageSpeed Insights (Lighthouse) | Real free-tier API, needs a key | Performance, SEO, best-practices, accessibility scores |
| Foursquare Places | Real free-tier API, needs a key | Candidate discovery near a location |
A lead only counts when the audit surfaces a real, specific problem: a PageSpeed performance score under 50/100, an SEO score under 80/100, missing HTTPS, no title tag, or no meta description. A clean audit is not a lead — see the underlying code in src/services/leads/sources/website-seo-audit.js.
The outreach angle
The audit report itself is the outreach asset — you're not cold-pitching a business on a hypothetical, you're handing them a specific, checkable finding about their own site.
